2012 Events
Saffron Masterclass and Banana Leaf Lunch- May 20th 2012
Join Slow Food Darwin and Chef Selvam of Saffron as he designs a healthy, flavoursome authentic Southern Indian, Northern Indian and Tandorri Menu. Saffron is the first restraurant in Australia to use zero-waste technology, biodegradable disposable tableware made from bamboo and sugarcane. You will source ingredients locally wherever possible.
Head to the kitchen to prepare the menu for lunch at this multi award winning and sustainably certified resturant for lunch.
When: Sunday 20th May 2012 Class From 9:00 am to 12:00pm. Lunch from 12:00. The planned menu can be viewed by scrolling down Where: Saffron Resturant, Parap Cost for Masterclass: Members $85 Non Members $95. Includes lunch and chilled water- other beverages available for purchase. Only 10 participants for the cooking class to ensure everyone gets the maximum opportunity to learn. Cost for Lunch only: Members $45 Non Members $50.00. Includes lunch and chilled water- other beverages available for purchase. Please advise if you have any special dietary requirements.

Selvam and you will source ingredients locally wherever possible including a tour of the the markets at Parap for fresh, seasonal produce.
We then head to the kitchen to prepare the menu for lunch at this multi award winning and sustainably certified resturant for lunch.

Tag Along Tour – September 25th 2011
Slow Food Darwin and Top End are pleased to invite you to our inaugural Tag Along Tour. This is a wonderful way to enable Slow Foods aim to bring our members and friends together with local producers. This is a family friendly event.
We will be visiting the Flicking Fresh Barra Farm and Crazy Acres to have a tour of the mango farm to give you the opportunity to meet local producers and purchase some of the supplies for a Slow Picnic Lunch at Waldo’s Barra Shack.

Tag Along Tour
Date: Sunday 25th September 2011
Time: 9:15am 1:30pm
Venue: Start at the Cox Pennisula Road tun-off (the road to Territory Wildlife Park, a couple of km south of the Noonamah Store)
Cost $30 members (family) and $35 non members (family). This includes admission fees for up to 2 adults. Children are free.
There will be an opportunity to purchase barra and ice cream at our producers visits. BYO shopping bag and esky.
