Slow Food is an international organisation with its head office in Piedmont, in the north of Italy where the first national association was founded in 1986.

Slow Food aims to protect the pleasures of the table from the fast food world. It organises events to raise the profile of local produce and promote local food producers. It promotes food culture, develops taste education and protects traditional foods at risk of extinction.

The Darwin & Top End group (convivium) of Slow Food was formed in 2003. We currently have a membership of 70 and growing with each new event that we organise.
